The 13th annual Art in the Garden celebration is set for this Saturday at Ballard P-Patch Community Garden (8527 25th Ave NW). The free event will be held from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. rain or shine and all are welcome.

Locals will have the chance to check out gorgeous dahlias, ripening tomatoes and giant sunflowers while discovering the talents of 18 local artists and enjoying live acoustic music. In terms of food, Seattle Biscuit Co. Food Truck will be on hand to dish out delicious eats and Maritime Pacific Brewing Company will be supplying the drinks on the patio Beer Garden.

The Ballard P-Patch gardeners will have homemade baked goods for sale and handmade pies up for auction. There will also be a silent auction where locals can win artwork, gift baskets of wine, and much more.

The kids will be entertained while sign painting and will have the chance to visit the chicken meet and greet to learn more about urban farming.

“There will be garden ambassadors to answer any questions you may have, from the history of the garden to helping you identify what is growing in over 80 individual garden plots,” write the organizers.

The event is coinciding with the American Community Garden Association’s national convention, which will be held in Seattle this year, and Ballard P-Patch members are looking forward to hosting guests from all over the country.

Art in the Garden is the primary fundraiser for the Ballard P-Patch and supports the Giving Gardens that donate produce to Ballard Food Bank.
