The folks at Hilliard’s Brewing (1550 NW 49th St) have been at it again, this time creating a new pale ale to welcome in the 2013 football season. The new brew is aptly named “The 12th Can” and it will be officially welcomed to the Seattle beer community at this afternoon’s launch party.
The festivities kick off at 3 p.m. with Thursday night football set to start at 5:25 p.m. The exciting event will include special appearances, Ezell’s and prizes for all!
In terms of the creation of The 12th Can itself, Hilliard’s answered the call of Sports Radio 950 KJR when they asked for a local beer dedicated to football fans. They put together a combination of Cascade Hops along with Maris Otter and Crystal Malts to form the perfect football season brew.
“To us, a perfect game-day craft beer can’t be dumbed down in taste or ingredients, but it shouldn’t be so over the top you need to switch to something lighter after only one,” writes the team at Hilliard’s.
