Susan G. Komen 3-Day to pass through Ballard Farmer’s Market on Sunday

A sea of pink will wash over the Ballard Farmer’s Market on Sunday, as the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk will pass through Ballard. Ballard resident Libby Calovich will be joining the walk for the third time this year. “We walk 60 miles over three days and raise a minimum of $2,300 for the cause,” Calovich writes. “I thought it would be nice to warn my local residents of Ballard that we’ll be there, in case they’re wondering about the sea of people in pink walk around.”

“This year I will dedicate my 60 miles to all of the survivors in our lives, thankfully the list is long!” Calovich writes on her fundraising page.  ‘I will also be thinking of those loved ones who have lost their battle with breast cancer with each step and I will not end my journey until I reach my destination: a world without breast cancer.”

The three-day walk is Sept. 20-22, and will kick off on Friday with an opening ceremony at the Seattle Center.  Learn more about spectator information here.
