  • Saturday Morning Retreat At Kadampa Meditation Center (6556 24th Ave NW) from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. This retreat will offer instruction on basic meditations for calming the mind and turning it in a positive and optimistic direction.   • Autumn Apple Pressing Community Garden Party at Greg’s Garden P-Patch (corner of 14th Ave NW & NW 54th Street) from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Greg’s P Patch is hosting a community party to raise funds and awareness for our community garden. Join us to press apples, enjoy delicious treats, explore the community garden, meet your neighbors, and win door prizes! Suggested donation of $5 helps support future projects at Greg’s P Patch.   • Matthew Porter Book Launch and Art Show Extravaganza at Seattle Creative Arts Center (2601 NW Market St) from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Join Seattle illustrator and author Matthew Porter at the release party for his latest children’s book, “Monkey World: The Thunderbolt Express”. Sunday, September 29:

  • Ballard Farmers Markets along Ballard Ave from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Click here to see this weeks specials.
  • 10th Annual Sustainable Ballard Festival at Ballard Commons Park (5501 22nd Ave NW) from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. The festival is a free event for the whole family. Festival goers can test ride an electric bike, sample Ballard craft brews and food, win prizes, catch some live music on the solar-powered main stage, watch chef demonstrations, press fresh cider, and meet goats, chickens, rabbits, and ducks.   • Wax On Event at Anchors Down Bar (2016 NW Market St) from 4 p.m. Every Sunday at Anchors Down, bring in your vinyl records to listen to and share with fellow music junkies. All vinyl, all day, and an all day happy hour. We’ll take turns playing our favorite cuts and talk about music through the years. All music welcome!
  • Ballard and Fremont Acupuncture Open House at 630 NW 44th St from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Learn about acupuncture and Chinese medicine and experience free ear acupuncture in a group setting.
