City’s rain garden program expands to more areas of Ballard

Ballard_retryMore areas of Ballard and Phinney Ridge will be included in the Raise Wise Program, which offers rebates for residents covering up to 100 percent of costs to install a rain garden or cistern. The city developed the Rain Wise program to help alleviate the amount of pollution that enters local waterways as a result of stormwater runoff. The program is aimed at reducing combined sewer overflows (CSOs) that occur in the Ship Canal during heavy rains.

In order to receive a rebate, residents must live in the eligible area (click here to plug in your address). If you  live in the CSO basin area, the next step is to find a contractor from the Rain Wise website.
