Ballard High School Girls Basketball starts feeder programs

basketballBallard High School (BHS) Girls Basketball now has multiple programs to support future Beavers!  The programs are open to girls in 2nd to 8th grades.  The program is local, run by BHS staff and players, helps support the high school program, and available during the winter and spring.

The winter program offers training and open gym on Sundays at the Ballard Boys and Girls Club.  The spring program includes tryouts for 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade teams.  The teams will practice once per week and play games on the weekend.  Players are also given training up to three times per week.  Tryouts are in March.

“We are very excited to offer a basketball program keyed towards elementary girls in the Ballard community,” says head Coach Sara Wetstone.  Wetstone adds, “it’s a great opportunity for the girls to obtain solid basketball fundamentals, have some fun, and get to know our program better.”

The winter program starts November 24th (this Sunday) and runs through February.  It is held at the Ballard Boys and Girls club from 3:00 to 4:15 pm on Sundays.  Drop in fee of $10/session goes directly to support the Ballard High School girls program.
