Vodka distillery set to open on Market St

photoMarket St will soon be welcoming a vodka distillery to its ranks. According to a sign posted on the door of the former Ballard Camera space (1836 NW Market St), Our/Seattle Vodka has applied for a liquor license for the premises.

The sign (pictured) is dated February 25 and announces the application for a liquor license for the category of “distill/rectify”.

According to the Washington State Liquor Control Board website, the licensees who submitted the application are Carl Caap and Thomas Roberts.

Not sure how interesting this will be if as the article claims they will have “a focus on local ingredients” but “each will have the same recipe.” I would hate to give my liquor $ to an Absolut partner when we have an abundance of great and truly local distilleries to support …
