Adams Elementary awarded first place at SPL Global Reading Challenge

little-team-that-couldThe Little Team That Could from Adams Elementary is celebrating their victory at the Seattle Public Library’s Global Reading Challenge. The local team were named the 2014 City Final Champions in the Battle of the Books program for 4th and 5th graders enrolled in Seattle Public Schools.

The Global Reading Challenge encourages local kids to have fun and enjoy reading. Participants split into teams and read 10 books from the list of book titles. Throughout the challenge the students are quizzed on each of the books and scored on their answers. The winning team from each school is then sent to the city-wide semi-finals and finals where they compete in a “Quiz Bowl” game to determine Seattle’s champion team.

The team from Adams claimed first place in a field of 48 teams. Congratulations to The Little Team That Could and all involved from Adams Elementary!
