Friday, April 4:

  • Comedy Sportz Seattle Show at new venue Atlas Theatre (3509 Fremont Ave N) at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Click here for more details and to buy tickets.

Saturday, April 5:

  • Work day near Ross Park (N 43rd St between 1st Ave NW and Palatine Ave N) from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. This is a one day volunteer opportunity to do some work outside and celebrate the approach of spring. Wear work clothes and boots and be prepared for rain.   • Caspar Babypants plays two shows at Ridge Romp at Phinney Neighborhood Center (6615 Dayton Ave N) at 10:30 a.m. Chris Ballew, lead singer of The Presidents of the United States of America, lends his wacky chops to Caspar Babypants, purveyor of simple, good time sing-along music for kids and parents to enjoy together. Tickets available here or at the door.
  • Beauty Event at Duque Salon + Spa + Boutique (5348 Ballard Ave NW) 11 a.m. – close. They are offering many deeply discounted services to choose from including $17 custom spray tans, $25 phyto deep conditioning hair treatments, and $50 microdermabrasion just to name a few.   • Planting for Pollinators Seminar at Swanson’s Nursery (9710 15th Ave NW) from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Horticulturist Ingela Wanerstrand will share information on fruit plant pollination needs, bee biology and food preferences, solving common pollination problems and choosing the best plants and techniques for a fruitful garden.
  • Container Workshop at Swanson’s Nursery (9710 15th Ave NW) at 11 a.m. Swansons’ expert designer, Charlo Wang will host the workshop. You will receive instruction in design basics, color and texture combinations, as well as techniques for success. Cost is $20. Call (206) 782-2543 to register.
  • Free Acupuncture for new patients at Purple Dragon Healing Arts (7324 15th Ave NW) from 1:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. Click here to make an appointment.
  • Fulcrum Community Communication Music Event at Toast Ballard (5615 24th Ave NW) from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. This is the second fundraising event to benefit Fulcrum Community Communications, an organization building a local low-power FM radio station that will serve Ballard, Fremont, Greenwood and other northwest Seattle neighborhoods. Sunday, April 6:

  • Ballard Farmers Markets along Ballard Ave from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Click here to see this week’s specials.
  • Yoga Sound Bath at Kula Movement, Center for Yoga & Health (5340 Ballard Ave NW) from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Led by Cosetta, participants usually lie in comfortable positions on the floor while Daniella does vocal toning and plays the crystal bowls. Cost is $30 before, $35 day of.
