Monthly Ballard ArtWalk on Saturday night

By Joe Veyera

This week’s Ballard ArtWalk is this Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m., with business throughout the Ballard core opening their doors to art lovers, and their walls to various displays from local artists. Here’s a breakdown of some of the highlights of this month’s ArtWalk:

At Monster Art and Clothing (5000 20th Ave NW), new original paintings from Mallory Milke with her Zentangle Animals will be on display, while aerialist Amy Matthews will also be performing.

Cory Ellen Boberg will be presenting her finished ballgown at New York Fashion Academy (5201 Ballard Ave NW), the completion of a month-long project to drape, fit, and construct a floor-length gown. That presentation begins at 7:30 p.m., with a preview of the Academy’s annual fashion show in September to follow at 8:30 p.m.

Matt Eastvold of Eastvold Furniture, a small, rural Minnesota company that designs and builds furniture for durability, will be at Digs (2002 NW Market St), displaying his work on the showroom floor.

Wallingford artist and architect Jon Taylor will be showing a series of mixed material sculptures at the Solo Lofts Sales Office (2041 NW 57th St., Loft 103). Wine and light hors d’oeuvres will also be provided.

The photography of Ruth Steck will be shown at Market Street Shoes (2232 NW Market St).
