Seattle-based pizza chain Mod Pizza opened on Friday in the former Ballard Ivar’s location at 6010 15th Ave NW.
The “casual” pizza chain currently has locations all over Washington, Oregon, California and more. The Ballard location is store number 17 to open in the state alone and the 35th to open company wide.
The new Ballard store features a huge 800 degree oven, outdoor seating, and a variety of beers on tap.

Mod co-founder and CEO Scott Svenson says that the store provides a place “where families and friends can come together in a super friendly, inspired environment.”
Mod Pizza is open Sunday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. Takeout orders can be placed online or by calling (206) 939-4000.
