Locals encouraged to report illegal activities at Ballard Commons

Locals are being encouraged to report illegal activities witnessed at Ballard Commons Park to the SPD in order to increase police presence in the area.

My Ballard reader Cristina emailed in to share information that she learned from Ballard’s community police officer Michael Cruzan. “I was able to chat with Officer Cruzan regarding the drug and alcohol use in the park. He is aware of the situation and would like to address it,” says Cristina.

Officer Cruzan confirmed that locals should feel comfortable calling 911 to report any illegal activity while in progress; including alcohol and drug use, drug dealing and camping (after 11 p.m.). According to Officer Cruzan, an increase in locals reporting illegal activities will result in more police officer presence in the area.

“If you’d like to help, please make a point to walk through the park and report either online or on the phone any illegal activity that occurs,” says Cristina.

Reports can be made to the SPD North Precinct online or by calling the SPD non-emergency line at ‪(206) 625-5011‬. Remember to call 911 in an emergency.
