A group of striking teachers from nearby neighborhoods are planning to walk across the Ballard Bridge today after lunch. Negotiations over the weekend didn’t result in a contract agreement between the teacher union and the school district, so Seattle’s teacher strike enters its second week today.

One of our readers, Angie, informed us that the Queen Anne Elementary Strike Captain posted on the Soup for Teachers Facebook group that they’ll be meeting at the south end of the Ballard Bridge at 12:40 p.m., and will be walking all the way to Ballard High School. According to Angie, Salmon Bay and other local schools will be joining in the march as well.
