Online petition for Ballard residents for site selections of homeless encampment sites

Many Ballard residents feel left out of the site selections for the homeless encampments. An online petition via change.org has been posted to assist Ballard residents in having a voice over the selections for the homeless encampment sites.

From the change.org website, the petition is calling on the Seattle City Council to:

  • Schedule at least two public hearings on weekday evenings to allow for public comment on the proposed homeless encampment sites.
  • Carefully consider whether the proposed sites are actually appropriate places for homeless tent encampments.
  • Take a public vote on whether the City Council supports the proposed locations.

1,677 have signed the petition thus far, 823 more signatures are needed to reach 2,500.
