Ballard Farmer’s Market will be open this weekend

If you’re tired of cooking, or looking to replenish your veggie stock, or other local fare, after a busy holiday season, visit the Ballard Farmer’s Market this Sunday, 10am-3pm.

This can be a tough time of year for stands at the Farmer’s Market. Especially around the holidays.

Take Patty Pan Cooperative, for instance. You may know them from their famous vegetarian quesadillas, homemade tamales and homemade, in-house freshly pressed tortillas. In their peak season, May-September, Patty Pan does 14 markets around Seattle. In the off-season, October-April, they reduce down to just three markets; Ballard, Capitol Hill and U-District.

“The mixture of weather, holiday season, and Seahawks playing on Sundays, make it really slow at the market this time of year.” says Trey Faber of Patty Pan Cooperative. “But we make do. Come grab a quesadilla, pack of tamales or tortillas for the game!”

The Ballard Farmer’s Market is open year ’round, rain or shine.

Patty Pan is Seattle’s (and Ballard’s) the oldest farmer’s market hot-food concession, operating since 1997. For more information about Patty Pan Cooperative, visit their website, Facebook, or visit them at the market.
