On Saturday, July 29, Loyal Heights Playfield (2101 NW 77th St) will be a hub for a city-wide earthquake drill from 9am to noon. The playfield is considered one of the city’s 11 Emergency Communications Hubs; the next closest one is the Phinney Community Center.
“Mark your calendars! Sharpen your pencils! Spiff up your acting skills! We are taking to the field again in July to practice our response skills – this time it will be a continuation of the Cascadia Rising Subduction Zone earthquake, on day six after ‘the big one’,” the organizers say. “Join us as a volunteer or a ‘citizen actor,’ or just stop by to learn more.”
