Update: white circle graffiti was painted by newspaper delivery man

Update: The white circles that were showing up on people’s homes were spray-painted by an elderly newspaper delivery man. According to Khuong Nguyen, Seattle Newspaper Distribution district manager, the delivery man is new at his job, and because he was delivering papers in the dark, he painted the circles so he could see which houses had subscriptions. “He isn’t trying to vandalize,” Nguyen said, adding that the man apologizes.

Nguyen is now going house to house cleaning up the graffiti. “It’s just a mess,” he tells My Ballard.

Original: Graffiti has been appearing on the front steps of several Ballard homes in the form of two white circles. My Ballard reader Paul Steele says he found the graffiti a few mornings ago at his home on 10th Ave NW. Walking around the neighborhood, he says he found several other homes that had the same tag on the east side of 10th Ave NW block between 70th and 73rd.

Steele says he reported the graffiti to police. He said he and his neighbors discussed that it may be correlated to newspaper delivery subscriptions.
