Taco Time to close for remodeling later this month

The Taco Time in Ballard is undergoing a huge remodel, which means it will be closed from Sept. 24  until the end of the year. The main restaurant is currently closed, but the drive-thru will remain open until the 24th.

Taco Time district manager Michael Macias says they’re changing the entire layout of the restaurant, adding an outdoor patio, and putting in all new furniture and seating. They’re rebuilding the kitchen, and putting in all new screens and menus.

The drive-thru will also be changed — it will be larger and easier to access, Macias says.

Macias says they hope to reopen by mid-December, but that’s subject to change depending on inspections and permitting.

  1. Finally! Hey, in all seriousness is it either this or $50 carne asada in Ballard? Why can’t we get real street tacos around here, FFS? This is a sanctuary city after all.

    1. El Camion is really good, as is Taqueria Tequila. Both are fairly reasonably priced joints as well, although El Camion’s location is slated for demolition and rebuilding.

    2. There are food trucks all over the place. You can’t drive anywhere in Seattle without encountering one. So why are you asking?

  2. they should shut it down and open a real eatery. i love taco time but that place has some serious issues.
    horrible service. argumentative. slow.

    1. What kid of moron expects service and respect at a fast food place. An entitled one that’s who. There is a reason some people end up with spit in their food.
