Ballard’s breweries coming together on Saturday for winter beer festival and fundraiser

If you’ve ever dreamed of having all of Ballard’s breweries available under one roof, here’s your chance: the Ballard Brewed Winter Beer Festival is on Saturday, Nov. 3, during which all 11 of Ballard’s breweries will come together at Hale’s Palladium to raise money for Bellwether Housing, Seattle’s largest nonprofit affordable housing provider.

Each of the breweries — Bad Jimmy’s, Hales Ales Brewery, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Lucky Envelope Brewing, Maritime Pacific Brewing Company, NW Peaks Brewery, Obec Brewing, Peddler Brewing, Populuxe Brewing, Reuben’s Brews and Stoup Brewing — will bring two winter beers to the Ballard Brewed Winter Beer Festival, one of which will be released for the first time at the festival.

“We recognize that there is a great need for affordable housing in Seattle,” Mike Hale, owner/founder of Hale’s Ales Brewery said. “We know it will take resources to solve this problem, so we are coming together and doing what we do best to raise funds to build more homes for low-income families while having a fun and festive event.”

There will be live music from the Gus Clark Trio and Planet Fly, with the So So Good Food Truck and Big Mario’s Pizza on site.

The fundraiser will run from 2pm to 7pm at Hale’s (4301 Leary Way NW). Tickets are $30 advance/$35 at the door, which includes a tasting glass and 11 four-ounce pours.

  1. No idiotic off-topic shitposts yet? That won’t last.

Today I’m delivering another batch of 50 to 60 cans of food for the Ballard Food Bank. Every garbage comment by repetitive sockpuppets and annoying trolls means I pledge one more can for the food bank. Post away, idiots. Your useless noise is being put to good use!

    1. Off-topic? Isn’t this a post about a fundraiser for affordable housing? Wouldn’t a lack of affordable housing make…homeless people? Homeless people!

    2. I applaud your efforts. Ballard is a much safer, cleaner place than five years ago. There is absolutely no problem with theft, open drug use, violent behavior, or anything else. There have not been needles found everywhere, and there has NOT been a surge in the rat population feeding on the trash and feces strewn in parks and green spaces.
Would you care to speak at my next Social Justice Agenda Committee meeting in December?

We’d like to award you the Social Justice Rainbow Scout Canned Food Merit Badge. Together, we can all make Ballard even safer!

      1. Mike, your wife wants you back home doing chores. I suppose you could do a good deed and hire some homeless people to do them for a few bucks. Or are you scared of your ‘most vulnerable’ community members? Tell the truth now!

    3. Elenchos I know it’s you. I came here to say you’re a loser and a prick. Donate all the food you want. Truth be told you are just feeding your homeless, junkie friends. If you’re so concerned elenchos, why don’t you have your junkie friends over for dinner…or did you donate that too since you’re so kind?

      1. You and Elenchos need to get a room already.

A bunch of you guys don’t seem to understand how food banks work. Telling me who to give food to, where, who gets what food. No. That’s not how it works.

I’m donating food to the FOOD BANK. That’s what I’m doing.

The FOOD BANK distributes the food.

See? I’m supporting the Ballard Food Bank. They take it from there. And you, your role is to rack up pledges for me with your inane yelling at clouds.

If you want to yell about who gets what, march yourself down there to the Ballard Food Bank and yell at them. My guess is, they’ve seen it all, and you’ll bore them.

    4. Please, please, PLEASE give them something other than canned food!
What are you really trying to do- poison these unfortunate citizens with that toxic brew of extra salt, sugar and preservatives?

How about wholesome dried beans? And remember to throw in a bunch of bottles of Beano so they don’t asphyxiate themselves in their tents.

Oh, and don’t forget the soy sauce…

  2. Hey Geniuses, be sure to vote for the new property tax (rent increase)! That will sure improve things for lower income tenants.

  3. Affordable housing for low income is not going to happen for Americans and most to all affordable housing went to Refugees and more pouring in and by the way Veterans are on the top list to get screwed and falsely respresented by Liberal “fake goody ” org,s I know I am a Vet and you have to move to another city and state to get help like Las Vegas , Nv. Where vet housing does exist and the locals care and metro buses charge only a buck for card carrying veterans or vet bus pass by metro …..so Ballard too late to start caring your past the tipping point after 2008 and still going !

    1. Yes, the brilliant progressives have decided to make lower income people compete with refugees and illegal immigrants for dwindling service sector jobs and affordable housing.
