Miniature pinscher chases away burglar from Greenwood home

A small dog is to thank for chasing away a burglar early Thursday morning in Greenwood.

As reported on the SPD Blotter, police were called to a home on the 7000 block of Palatine Ave N at 3am after a burglar broke a basement window and entered a home. The resident told police that her dog, believed to be a miniature pinscher, chased the man out of the house. He then jumped into a gold Jeep Cherokee — with two bikes strapped to the roof — and drove away.

The burglar and his driver only made it three miles. Thanks to their distinctive getaway car, police caught up to them in the 500 block of NE Northgate Way and arrested both men and booked them into King County Jail.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Task Force believe both suspects may be connected to other recent burglaries from over the holidays. They say the men may have been targeting unoccupied homes.

    1. Except most burglaries happen when nobody is home. Explain how your gun stops that? Advantage of a dog is they work when you’re not home.

  1. A few observations:
    1) I believe the dog is guilty of a hate crime for stopping this “vulnerable community member” from finishing their “survival crime”.
    2) A Seattle dog actually doing something USEFUL besides clutter up walkways in stores, buses, or yapping wildly for no reason? This alone is newsworthy
    3) This dog has more balls (if it isn’t neutered already like most Seattle Soyboys) than our entire City Council. WOOOF!

        1. All free speech means is that the government can’t arrest you for what you say. MyBallard could absolutely boot your ass from their private platform, if they wished. Lord, how I wish they wished.

          1. or if you need someplace safer, you could always try a different site.

          2. Safer? I’m not scared of you numbskulls, I’m just tired of hearing you cry about the same shit over, and over, and over. If you hate this city that much, find somewhere to go. No one likes a whiner.

          3. These people come from homes of hatred. Those of them who spawn, spawn hatred. They have little to no value to add to the world, and so they try to destroy it. They are the biggest snowflakes among us, and their kind uses the same tired talking points across all online platforms. They take no accountability for their actions, and put all blame on those who actually care about others. Theirs is a dying kind in a nation that within the next 20 years won’t be able to gerrymander its way into another century of hate. Education is winning and ignorance/hate is losing. Unfortunately, there’s about a half dozen of these still lingering around our neighborhood upchucking their fear in the form of namecalling, so we need to keep putting up with them for now.

          4. Yes, the Soviets were quite confident. Very.
The word isn’t “education” my social justice friend, the word is “indoctrination”. And judging by recent political events in other countries I wouldn’t be so smug. After all, the people who grow your food, haul your materials and supplies, and fix your grid are often “reactionaries”.
            GOOD LUCK!
