New Year’s Day Polar Bear Plunge at Golden Gardens

If you’re brave enough to ring in 2019 with a dip in the frigid Puget Sound, you can join the annual Polar Bear Plunge crowds at Golden Gardens tomorrow.

The biggest crowd will be there for an 11am plunge — costumes are encouraged. Thermoses of hot chocolate and Christmas-tree bonfires will be plentiful.

If you want to build up a sweat before you plunge, there will be a 5k run/walk hosted by PNW Ladies Running Group and Run 2 Be Fit. The 5k will start at 10am and finish with a swim/dash into the Sound at 11am.

The Ballard Elks Lodge will also host what they call a “Pledge or Plunge“, at the beach next to their lodge at 1pm.

    1. Ideological banter with no depth of character. The festive and the fun of engaging with the community and nature at this time of the season is too much for you. If we need the cure for happiness, we’ll call you.

        1. What community activities do you participate in? Do you engage with people in your neighborhood? You obviously have nothing going on in your life. Friends? Family? Community? If want to help with my friends and I at Operation Nightwatch one of these nights let me know. We loved to have you.

          1. Shut it scourge, go back to your parents holiday festivities where you belong.

  1. Polar bears are white, therefore, RACISM.
    Snow is white, therefore, RACISM.
Too many white people, MEN, RACISM MEN REEEEEEEEEE
