Woodsky’s in Fremont closes suddenly after celebrating 8th anniversary

A Fremont favorite, Woodsky’s, closed up shop suddenly yesterday, and have let go all of their bartenders.

The winter-themed bar just celebrated their 8th year in business last week, so the announcement came as a surprise.

A favorite among skiers and snowboarders, Woodsky’s was well known for their weekly goldfish races, shots served on skis, and slushy, boozy drinks.

We’ve reached out to the owner, Wei, and will update if we learn anything new.

Thanks to Andrew for posting about the closure in the My Ballard Group

  1. I put it this way; Seattle today reminds me of hanging on a beach in Puerto Vallarta, in that everything for sale on the beach is negotiable. Everything in Seattle today is just this. I went to 1 of my favorite places the other day and noticed all the shops next to it were now closed and soon will be replaced by a gazillion more freaking condos. Then these new people can bitch about over-crowding and not being able to afford living here etc. Then we can tax ourselves again to help them = rinse, lather repeat.

    1. There will be nothing left here but tech campuses and condos, which ultimately will ruin the allure of the place. Oh, and violent bums and junkies. Let’s not forget them.

  2. Does anyone know what caused this? The two previous posters seem to have agendas not facts. Did either of them ever go to Woodsky’s or meet its owner or ex-employees?
