Free Marine Corps jazz concert coming to Ballard

Ballard High will soon host a special night of free jazz music featuring the Marine Corps musicians.

“The President’s Own” Marine Corps All-Star Jazz Band is wrapping up their West Coast tour with a concert at Ballard High School on Feb. 8. The band is a group of 20 hand-selected jazz musicians from different Marine Corps bands around the country. Their tour started in Los Angeles, and they’ve been traveling up the coast hosting master classes and performing for the public.

The BHS Jazz Band 1 will be opening with a couple songs, followed by an hour of music from the Marine Corps.

The concert will be on Friday, Feb. 8 at 7pm at Ballard High School’s Earl Kelly Center for Performing Arts.

  1. I don’t want Trump’s personal band bringing their “values” to Ballard. Isn’t there somewhere in the south they can go play?

        1. I did, you are incorrect but thank you for assuming I was an uninformed idiot and needed you to talk to me like an annoying child.

      1. Technically they probably belong more to the Chinese than the Americans as they are purchasing most of the debt we are using to pay for our military services.

    1. As an actual student at Ballard that plays trumpet in the jazz band, I find it hilarious that a bunch of adults feel the need to weigh in on how the USMC jazz band is going to somehow radicalize the student body. Smh, It’s the m a r i n e jazz band, not the 3rd right.

  2. Friendly reminder: the number of millennial social justice warriors who stopped German fascism and defeated the Japanese aggressors in WW2 will always number exactly ZERO.

    1. It wouldn’t be an article about a jazz concert without Uncle Buck having a delusional rant about his favorite demographic: millennials!

Tell me Mr. Lever: how many people who endlessly shitpost on neighborhood blogs stopped the Axis powers in WW2?

    2. If millennials were around in the WW2 era that would be a funny comment. What’s funnier is that they are around today to torment you and your fear of minorities, poor people and women.
