Closer look at 6-story apartment building planned for 53rd St

Another small-efficiency dwelling apartment will likely be popping up just off 15th Ave NW on NW 53rd St.

The proposal is for a 6-story building with 50 small-efficiency dwelling units, with no vehicle parking planned. The address is 1446 NW 53rd St, just behind the Subway on 15th. The building is currently the home of the Outrageously Fit gym.

    1. Yep, just like the SE-dwelling that’s going up on 56th & 15th. (But don’t worry, all those moving to Ballard don’t drive, anyway.)

    2. don’t they know that street parking is for single family homeowners whose house don’t have driveways? How dare anyone else try to horn in on this.

          1. Love living in a city. Just not a city that was, is and continues to be so poorly planned and managed.

          2. @Cap Anson

You must not be aware of the libtard Seattle double bind. It goes like this:
Point out something stupid about Seattle?

If you just got here from somewhere else, they say “go back to ______ you ignorant _________”.

If you have lived here for decades, then they say “just move you old ______you know places change blah blah.”

It’s as predictable as the monthly tax increase proposals around here.

  1. Chances are that hardly anyone with a car and a brain would move to this building, which is fine. Many people don’t have cars, and the last thing Ballard needs is more cars. More parking means more traffic.

    1. Sure. Use Metro to get to work and do your grocery shopping with a Lime E-bike…or maybe just have all your food delivered.
      I’m all for less traffic.
