Burke-Gilman Trail cleanup next week

Next week, the Fremont Rotary Club is hosting a cleanup of the Burke-Gilman Trail.

The club will meet at the dinosaurs on the trail in Fremont on Tuesday, March 26 at 4:30pm. Their cleanup path will be the part of the trail the club helps maintain; from the dinosaurs to Hale’s (the intersection of NW 43rd St). They’ll start by giving the dinosaurs a trim, and will make their way towards Hale’s, picking up litter as they go.

“Once your are at Hales, work is done! Quench your thirst and enjoy time with your fellow Rotarians & Volunteers from the community,” they write in the event info.

The club will provide pick-up tools, trash bags, and tarps. They ask that participants wear comfortable outdoor work clothes and work gloves.

I notice they’re conveniently stopping at Hales, right before they get to the mass of tents right off the trail behind the Fred Meyer. Will they be providing sharps containers as well?

“Why even bother, to be honest?”

Because most people are not pretending like they are a victim and actually care enough about their neighbors and their community to want to improve it. Most also don’t require validation or free beer improve their community either.

did you watch the program? has nothing at all to do with trump, republicans, etc – its a clear picture of the mess the city has been allowed to become.

it’s a clear piece meant to disparage the poor and homeless. it doesn’t ridicule big business for not doing enough to help out the local community. it doesn’t put any blame on developers putting in half million dollar tiny homes (disguised as condos) while displacing low income people. no, it puts the blame squarely on those who are being displaced, and those who have mental illness. this IS trump’s modus operandi and if you’d done any reading about the sinclair group you’d know what i was talking about.

muh fake news

Should we be instead listening to Carlos Slim’s NYT or Bezos’ Washpo for the “truth”.

Hey funny story water is wet and hot stuff burns even whether you’re liberal or conservative, and tent tweakers are tent tweakers. You guys are so married to the social justice narrative you’re willing to burn the place down before admitting the Dem’s big failure here. This is their mess and their show, that cost OUR TAXES and SAFETY. Pathetic as usual.

no, i wouldn’t recommend listening to either of those neolibs either.
funny story – people who b**ch and complain will always b**ch and complain. you offer zero solutions. your comments continue to be full of hatred and so far, you’ve been a net drain on ballard. you complain about people not wanting to change…take a look in the mirror pal. you’ve got some messed up views that only thorough therapy can address.
