Sweet Alchemy opening Ballard location this week

Just in time for spring and summer, another ice creamery is coming to Ballard.

Sweet Alchemy, owned by Lois Ko, will open at 1555 NW Market St, sharing the space with Mighty-O Donuts. Ko’s original location is in the U-District, which she opened in 2016.

Sweet Alchemy is all about small-batch ice cream. The shop’s sweet cream base is made daily from organic and mostly local ingredients — their dairy comes from Fresh Breeze Organics in Lynden, WA. All their sauces, toppings, flavors and waffle cones are also made from scratch in-house.

On Wednesday, April 10, Sweet Alchemy will host their grand opening, and plan to give out free waffle cones with the purchase of ice cream. They’ll also be raffling off a pint of ice cream as part of the opening party, happening from 11am to 11pm.

  1. And they will have vegan options! Along with the vegan Mighty-O donuts, this is a deadly combination! I will have to walk the pup to Fremont and back just to be able to buy any of this.
