Police arrest two men following a fight and shots fired at Fremont 7-Eleven

Police have arrested two men following an altercation with shots fired outside the Fremont 7-Eleven late Monday night.

The incident was first thought to be an armed robbery, but according to SPD, the skirmish happened in the parking lot of the convenience store.

Just before 10pm, a parking enforcement officer reported that a man had fired a gun outside the 7-Eleven convenience store.

When officers arrived on scene, the suspect and victim had already fled. The 7-Eleven clerk told police that two groups of men had gotten into a fight and one man had pulled out a baseball bat and smashed the window of the other vehicle. The vehicle owner then pulled out a handgun and fired five rounds, striking two nearby cars.

After searching the area, police found and arrested the 23-year-old man with the baseball bat for an unrelated warrant. He confirmed the fight and gave details about the gunman, saying he’d fled in a red Dodge SUV.

Police found the SUV hours later, driving in the 14300 block of Linden Ave N with its lights off. The driver, an 18-year-old man, turned out to be the gunman, and was arrested.

Both men are now booked into King County Jail.
