Ballard Farmers Market gleaning team needs volunteers

Every Sunday afternoon, a group of volunteers from Sustainable Ballard head to the Farmers Market to collect donations of produce from sellers, which then go straight to the Ballard Food Bank.

However, they need some help.

“This is such a simple and rewarding way to keep good produce out of the compost bin and get it to our Ballard neighbors in need,” Polly Freeman from the gleaning team tells My Ballard.

The time commitment is 2:45pm to 5pm on Sundays. “It’s fun and makes a tangible difference,” Polly says.
