Vegan restaurant Galaxy Rune opens in Fremont

Vegans, here’s some good news: Galaxy Rune vegan restaurant has just opened in Fremont at 3601 Fremont Ave N.

With meat-free cheeseburgers, pulled pork, and hot dogs on the menu, Galaxy Rune says they make vegan food for non-vegans. They even make their own fake meat, created from a combination of tofu, textured vegetable protein, vital wheat gluten, beans, and various flours.

The owner, Joshua Garner, told Seattle Eater that his “beef” burgers are far better than anything on the market today, comparing the Beyond Burger to “cat food that improves a little when cooked”.

Burger options include the Rune Cheeseburger ($9) with or without bacon ($1 extra), a Cowgirl Burger with bacon and BBQ grilled onion ($9), and the Hellboy with full fixings and spicy toppings ($10). They also have pulled pork sandwiches ($8), bratwursts ($8), and frankfurters ($6), and chili cheese dogs ($8) — all made in-house.

They also serve milkshakes to go with those meat-free burgers — vegan, of course.

Galaxy Rune is open 12pm to 9pm Monday through Thursday, 11am to 9pm on Friday and Saturday, and 12pm to 7pm on Sunday.
