Rising sun mural at Ballard and Shilshole getting repainted

The mural on the corner of Shilshole and Ballard Ave is being repainted.

David Bauer, who posted the above photo in the My Ballard Group, said they’re redoing the mural because it was recently tagged.

Local artist Rick Klu will be painting it, which Bauer says will be based on the original, “but with some new Ballard elements”.

The new one will feature water, boats, and part of the Ballard Bridge.
