One of Fremont’s biggest weekends of the year is coming up in a couple weeks, with Oktoberfest set to take over the neighborhood September 20 – 22.
The major draw is of course the beer, with over 100 craft beers, German beers, and cider on tap. There’s also a number of Oktoberfest-themed events, such as a Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving contest, axe throwing, stein hoisting, and the ever-popular Dogtoberfest happening on Sunday.
The festival will be held in the streets of Fremont, between Phinney Ave N and 1st Ave NW, and N 35th St and N Canal St, with the entrance located at the intersection of Phinney and 35th. You can expect plenty of traffic in Fremont all weekend — walking, biking, or busing is recommended.
Oktoberfest kicks off on Friday, Sept. 20 at 5pm — expect street closures several hours prior. The festival continues Saturday from noon to midnight, and on Sunday from noon to 6pm.
Tickets cost between $25 and $30, and are available online.
