Ballard Film Festival this weekend at BHS

This weekend a collection of shorts from Ballard’s talented filmmaking program will be showing at the Ballard Film Festival.

Ballard High will host the festival at the Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Feb. 29 at 7pm, featuring short comedies, dramas, advertisements, and documentaries.

The Ballard High film program has won countless awards for their work over the years. This past year, BHS students took home 11 awards at the NW High School Film Fest, plus an Audience Favorite Winner out of five selections in the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY). Other awards include Best Student Film at the Shoreline Film Festival; as well as two National and five Northwest Regional awards from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Tickets for the festival are $10 for adults and $5 for students (door sales only) and will go to benefit the school’s Digital Filmmaking Program, helping pay for equipment, supplies, and field trip transportation.

  1. I’m looking forward to the release of the Samsara movie. It should be a masterpiece by Mark Magidson who has been producing this project for 5 years. The main idea is the struggle between good and evil. I recommend reading the review https://samploon.com/free-essays/film-analysis/ of this movie. The plot looks simple but the meaning of simple words is in the complexity of thought.
