Metro buses will be fare-free starting tomorrow, riders to board through back doors

King County Metro services will be fare-free starting Saturday, and bus riders will be asked to board and exit the bus through the back doors.

Fare-free services will include buses, water taxis, and Access paratransit. Riders using mobility devices or the boarding ramp will still be permitted to board through the front door.

The drivers will be notified today and will begin installing signage to alert riders.

Metro buses will also be on a reduced schedule starting Monday, March 23; click here for a full list of reduced bus routes.

      1. So by merely disagreeing with you, others become a dick? Perhaps the time has come for a little reality check for your standards? As stating obvious facts trigger you and other created libtards. Non-inclusive. Intolerant of any alternative ideas. So open minded, everything fell out, years ago.

  1. The coronavirus pandemic has served as a useful platform on which to advance socia!ist goals. Free transit and no 72-hour parking rule enforcement are but two of the horses they’ve snuck into Troy.

    1. Says the same person who will most likely gladly accept the government relief money, which is also social!sm. Please donate your social!st check to the food bank, they don’t discriminate like you.

      1. Try watching the GD History channel and learn something. Your revisionists view of history is off just a bit. If this were NOT talked about you’d be the first to scream like a little girl. It’s all your money to begin with. The only thing government truly “produces” is dependence. Every penny they have came from your pocket and your neighbors pocket. I bet you feel a tax return is sexy and cool too.

        1. I am fully aware that that money comes from out taxes, and how that all works, without watching the Hearst Communications/Disney owned version of History. But please do explain why people like you “scream like a little girl” at the mere mention of social!st type of programs such as single payer health care? That’s all the people’s money too, so what’s the problem there? And should we subsidize corporations that receive tax breaks, or pay no taxes, with OUR money? Should companies not affected by this virus get OUR money too? And should we pay for an incompetent conservative president’s little toy Space Force with OUR money?
