Seattle Fire responds to natural gas leak at 50th and 14th Ave NW

2pm: Seattle Fire has secured the gas leak and has reopened the area around 50th and 14th.

12pm: Reuben’s Brews, which is in the evacuation area, will keep their taproom and store closed until the gas leak is resolved.

11am: Seattle Fire says to avoid the area on the map below for the next four hours while they work to secure the gas leak. Area to avoid includes blocks east of 15th Ave NW to West of 11th Ave NW and ssouth of NW 52nd St to North of 49th St.

Original: Seattle Fire is evacuating the 5000 block of 14th Ave NW due to a natural gas leak in the area.

The 5000 block includes Reuben’s Brews taproom, and a construction site, where Seattle Fire says the leak originated.
