Tonight, King County Metro and SDOT are hosting an online open house to share responses and ideas for improving Route 40.
Back in March, Metro released a survey to gain feedback for ways to improve the Route 40 corridor, and received over 1,000 responses. Now, they’ve compiled the feedback and plan to share their initial design concept ideas.
Route 40, which spans from downtown Seattle to Northgate via Ballard, has been one of Metro’s highest ridership routes. The goal, SDOT says, is to make the bus route faster and more reliable. The project is still in the planning phase, with construction expected in 2024.
The virtual open house will be this evening (Tuesday, June 30) from 5 to 6pm.
This is a great format, and hopefully one that can continue after covid. Being able to log-in remotely is much easier, and I would imagine would allow for more public involvement as more people could participate. Plus it has the added benefit of being recorded to watch again later for those that missed out.
