The Boar’s Nest to close permanently after 9 years in Ballard

Another Ballard business has announced it will be closing due to the pandemic.

The last day of business for The Boar’s Nest will be Thursday, Oct. 15. Tomorrow is also their 9th anniversary: the BBQ restaurant opened on Oct. 15, 2011.

In a social media message to customers, the owners said they had high hopes for this year, with plans to open a concession stand at Husky Stadium. Along with operating their brick-and-mortar at 2008 NW 56th St, the restaurant often catered events.

“The cancellation of all events hit everyone hard. But, the hardest part for us is now saying goodbye to you,” the owners wrote to customers.

“We will miss providing brides and grooms with their first meal as a married couple. We will miss dodging footballs and bean bags as we set up tailgating tables. We will miss sending graduates off in style with pulled pork and ribs. We will miss all of the crazy events at Safeco and breweries and wineries. And we will miss blaring country music and serving you in our little smoky home in Ballard.”

If you want one last barbecue meal from The Boar’s Nest, be sure to visit them before they close permanently tomorrow.
