The recently opened Steele Barber (5201 Ballard Ave NW) was broken into over the weekend, losing over $4,000 worth of merchandise.
Owner Matthew Humphrey says the break-in happened Saturday morning at 5:45am. He has several photos collected from the store’s security camera; the suspects are a man and woman. The woman is described as wearing dark-rimmed plastic glasses, and the man (dressed as a security guard) appears to have light brown/reddish hair, Humphrey says.
“Any leads that lead to the capture and prosecution will win hair services for a year and our eternal gratitude,” Humphrey shared in a Facebook post about the incident.
“The high deductibles and ever increasing cost of insurance is a strain on small business like us. Businesses large and small in Seattle (and everywhere) won’t make it in a world where there are no consequences for crime. Many like me and much larger are closing their doors in downtown Seattle. I refuse to give up or go quietly.”
If you have any information about the crime, contact Steele Barber by phone (206-453-0339) or email (contact@steelebarber.com).
