The annual Ballard Gives Back program will continue this year in which a number of Ballard businesses donate a portion of Black Friday sales to local charities.
Over a dozen Ballard businesses will be participating in this year’s Black Friday fundraiser, which started in 2013 to encourage socially conscious and local gift shopping. New this year is the Ballard Alliance’s virtual marketplace, so shoppers can buy local without leaving their homes. All participating stores are also open to the public, following strict health guidelines.
“Year after year shoppers have skipped the malls and shared a more meaningful holiday shopping experience in Ballard,” Ballard Alliance Executive Director Mike Stewart said. “Ballard businesses have reopened safely, and we are encouraging locals to choose our local small businesses for shopping and dining this holiday season.”
