Next weekend is the return of the 17th annual Sustainable Ballard Festival.
The annual festival will be held at the Loyal Heights Community Center Lawn from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24.
This year’s festival’s theme is “Green Steps,” which Sustainable Ballard says focuses on hands-on exhibits and demonstrations “on actions big and small that lead to a reduced carbon footprint.”
Along with exhibits, there will be food trucks, live music, an apple cider press, chalk art, solar oven creation demonstrations, and birdhouse building.
The event is free and open to the public.
