Semi-pro soccer team Ballard FC is gearing up to start its second season and has just released its 2023 schedule.
Ballard FC will kick off the 2023 season in late May. The team’s first home game will be May 26 at the Interbay Stadium against Lane United FC. Tickets are now on sale online; season tickets sold out early but single-game tickets are still available.
Ballard FC was named USL League Two “New Club of the Year” in their inaugural season, and made it to the final eight of the Western Conference Division. This year, the club has its eyes on qualifying for the U.S. Open Cup by winning the division and the 122-team USL2 championship, Ballard FC co-founder and general manager Sam Zisette said in a statement.
“The fan and community response to Ballard FC has been nothing short of incredible,” Ballard FC co-founder and former Seattle Sounders player, Lamar Neagle said in a statement.
“More than 75 percent of 2022 season ticket holders retained their tickets for the 2023 season, which is a huge feat for any team, but for Ballard FC to do it in the first year just shows you that we are more than just a high caliber semi-pro soccer team–we are a community builder and a place where people feel included and entertained. This year, we will build on what we started by offering even more fan experiences and new ticketing opportunities.”
New this year is field-level seating for fans. The team has eight home games this season, all of which will be played at Interbay Stadium.
