BHS marching band to practice around the neighborhood next week

Once again, students from the Ballard High School marching band will be making their way around the neighborhood practicing.

Rachel Hart Rios, Ballard Performing Arts Boosters Club Communications Chair, tells My Ballard that the team is practicing for an upcoming trip to Disneyland, where they’ll be performing on April 7.

The upcoming practice dates are the following:

  • Friday, March 24, 3:45 – 5:15 p.m.
  • Friday, March 31, 3:45 – 5:15 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 4, 3:45 – 5:15 p.m.

The parade route starts at BHS’s field and will start marching around 4:15 p.m. Hart Rios says they typically march north on 14th Ave NW, take a right on NW 70th St, north on 12th or 13th and up a few blocks, before turning back down 12th or 11th and then right on NW 67th St to head back (subject to change).

There will be several parents chaperoning to help stop traffic. “We appreciate everyone’s patience as they try to get in and out of the neighborhood with this joyful disruption,” Hart Rios says.
