Design review meeting set for St. Luke’s Church redevelopment project

Early next month there will be a design review meeting for the 206-unit apartment building and new St. Luke’s Episcopal Church facility (5701 22nd Avenue NW).

The Seattle Department of Construction & Inspections Design Review Board will discuss the project in an online meeting on Monday, May 8 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The project—a joint partnership with Heartland LLC, Bridge Housing, and Security Properties—will include two buildings: One with affordable housing units and the other with market-rate apartment homes. The two buildings will be integrated but separate, along with a new worship space for St. Luke’s congregation.

The design review will be to discuss the market-rate apartments, which will be an 8-story building that will have parking for 173 vehicles.

The development will span over four parcels of land (see map below) with a total area of 40,000 square feet, all belonging to St. Luke’s.

The May 8 meeting will invite the public to comment on the design of the proposal. Online registration to speak during the meeting begins two hours before the meeting starts and closes 30 minutes into the meeting.
