Ballard is about to host its first-ever Pride Parade

Ballard will be hosting a Pride Parade for the first time ever this weekend.

The parade, organized by the Seattle Farmers Market Association and Ballard Alliance, will be held at the Ballard Farmers Market on Sunday, June 4. It will kick off at 9:15 a.m. at NW Market St and 22nd Ave NW and travel south to NW Vernon and Ballard Ave NW.

There will be reserved dedicated spots for LGBTQ+ buskers and other creatives, “so prepare to be entertained by mesmerizing performances from face painters, musicians, poets, and drag queens, adding an extra touch of magic to this festive day,” Ballard Alliance wrote in the Ballard Bulletin.

After the parade, there will be a Drag Queen Showcase from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Bergen Place Park starring Marina Claire, Cosmo, and Cordelia Specifically.

Local organizations Rainier Roller Riot and Seattle LGBTQ+ Center will also have community tables at the market, spreading awareness about their programs.

If you’re interested in performing, please email the Seattle Farmers Market at info@sfmamarkets.com to reserve a spot.
