Wildwood Spirits distillery and tasting room now open in Ballard

Ballard is now home to the local distillery Wildwood Spirits.

Owners and Ballardites Zoey and Erik Liedholm opened Wildwood Spirits in Bothell in 2015 as a craft distillery. They focus on local ingredients—”farm to bottle”—as they put it.

Wildwood has a strong tie to Swedish heritage; Erik is Swedish and many of their spirits’ names are Swedish. The name Wildwood is a nod to the street Erik grew up on in East Lansing, Michigan, and the house on the logo is Erik’s childhood home.

Their new Ballard tasting room is their second location. Along with selling their collection of spirits, they serve craft cocktails at the new tasting room.

Their spirits range from gin, vodka, whiskeys, and non-alcoholic gin. Some of their well-known offerings include the Stark Vatten Vodka and Kur Gin, a Washington bourbon called The Dark Door, an Irish-style whiskey named The Professor, and their non-alcoholic gin, Ginnocence. Other creations include the Solgud Orange and Fennel Liquer and Arände Grappa.

Wildwood Spirit’s hours are Wednesday to Sunday, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
