The local soccer team Ballard FC is upgrading its home stadium: Next year, it will host all home games at Memorial Stadium at the Seattle Center (401 5th Ave N).
Ballard FC had an incredible 2023 season, emerging as this year’s USL League Two champions. After an unforgettable season, the team will move to Memorial Stadium in May 2024, which will become its temporary home base while the Interbay stadium undergoes ADA improvements.
“We are excited to embark on this incredible journey at Memorial Stadium for the 2024 season,” Sam Zisette, Ballard FC co-founder and general manager said in a statement.
“We see Interbay Stadium as our long-term home, but during this important ADA construction, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to play at historic Memorial Stadium before it changes forever. Our home games have sold out for the past two seasons, we look forward to welcoming more and new fans next summer after our championship season!”
The 2024 season at Memorial Stadium will be special for another reason: The stadium is being replaced to become a multi-purpose sports, educational, and entertainment destination.
Tickets for the 2024 Ballard FC season at Memorial Stadium are now on sale. Last year, the club sold of season tickets in under an hour; you can buy them online.
