Seattle Fire responded to a residential fire in the 7000 block of 12th Ave NW at 5 a.m. this morning.
SFD says it was the third major fire overnight in Seattle.
After arriving to the one-story home in Ballard, they found heavy black smoke coming from the residence. The occupants had exited the home when SFD arrived. The American Red Cross assisted the three displaced adult residents, none of whom were injured.

SFD also responded to a fire in Beacon Hill at the 4500 block of 12th Ave. S., where they rescued a 90-year-old woman from the one-story house with a basement. The woman then died at the scene.
And, a large fire in Belltown at 100 block of Vine St. required a two-alarm response. SFD rescued an adult male who died at the scene, and another woman was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. Five others were treated for injuries and sent to different hospitals for treatment.
SFD is investigating all three fires.
