There’s a large new mural on the outside of the Ballard Tool Library (7549-B 15th Ave NW).
The muralists are part of Urban ArtWorks which is a nonprofit that brings together “youth, artists, and communities in the creation of public art that inspires connections and honors their voices.”
Urban ArtWorks has a Mural Apprentice Program (MAP) that employees youth between 14 and 19. As part of the program, participants spend eight weeks working alongside professional teaching artists to learn art skills, research, design, and public art installations throughout King County.
The Ballard Tool Library is a Sustainable Ballard program.
Marcia Coté , Sustainable Ballard board member and tool library volunteer, says they’re “very excited to have been chosen to be a recipient of a mural.
“The library can be difficult to find and we hope the visibility of a 4’ x 20’ mural will help!”
