The Highliner Public House at Fishermen’s Terminal closed its doors permanently earlier this month.
A short note announcing the news on their website reads “The Highliner has permanently closed. Thanks for your patronage.”
And an email to customers reads:
“After 37 years in business the Highliner has closed its doors for the last time. There have been several owners over the years, and we’ve had the privilege of being at the helm for the last 12 of those. We appreciate your business and will have lasting memories of our time at Fishermen’s Terminal.
With gratitude,
John and team”
The owners, John and Cecile Burreson, told Seattle Eater that the business has struggled in recent years due to rising costs. The Burresons also previously owned Old Town Alehouse that once operated at 5233 Ballard Ave NW—Old Town closed way back in 2012.
