New closure on NW 56th St starts today in Ballard

The intersection of NW 56th St and 28th Ave NW has reopened to traffic following the recent full closure. But beginning today, April 30, a new closure is in place on NW 56th St between 26th Ave NW and 28th Ave NW to allow crews to continue work on sewer bypass pipes as part of the Ship Canal Water Quality Project.

This section of NW 56th St will be fully closed 24 hours a day through May 9. Pedestrian access and local driveway access along NW 56th St will remain open during the closure. Vehicles will be detoured to NW 57th St.

Cyclists traveling through the area are encouraged to review the Seattle Bike Facilities map for alternate routes.

Work schedules are subject to change depending on weather and field conditions.
