The Phinery, an interior design shop and home furnishing store, has moved into the former Morgan’s Kitchen and Bath building at 8055 15th Ave NW.
Owner Becky Ducsik told My Ballard that they relocated about two weeks ago and opened to design clients by appointment last week. The interior design firm had outgrown its previous Phinney Ridge location, where limited space and parking made expansion difficult.
The new building is 9,500 square feet, allowing the team to add significantly more furniture and products for clients to see in person. The Phinery plans to open a full home store at the location early next year, offering items such as furniture, rugs, décor, window treatments, hardware, and custom pillows. Shoppers will be able to buy directly from the floor or place custom orders.
Ducsik said the move gives the business more room to grow and makes it easier for walk-ins to browse and connect with designers. The Phinery now has a private 18-stall parking lot along with nearby street parking.
The company spent a decade in Phinney Ridge, starting on 65th and Phinney before moving to 76th and Greenwood five years ago. After outgrowing that space, the team—now 10 employees including five full-time designers—chose to stay in North Seattle and relocate to a larger, more accessible spot.
Morgan’s Kitchen and Bath closed in 2023 after 42 years.
While the home store is not yet open, the new location is currently open to interior design clients by appointment. Appointments can be made through the company’s website or by contacting hello@thephinery.com.
